ਅਖਾਣ: ਅੰਮਾਂ (ਮਾਂ) ਨਾਲੋਂ ਹੇਜਲੀ। ਸੋ ਫੱਫੇ ਕੁੱਟਣ॥

ਅਰਥ: ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਸਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਹਮਦਰਦ ਬਣਨ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕਰੇ ।
Literal Translation: Better to beat the father-in-law than the mother.
Meaning (English): It’s better to face smaller risks than anger a more important or closer person.
