ਅਖਾਣ: ਭੁੱਖੇ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਰੱਜੀ, ਤੇ ਖੇਹ ਉਡਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੀ॥
Akhan: Bhukhe Di Dhi Rajji, Te Kheh Udaun Laggi
ਅਰਥ: ਜਦ ਕੋਈ ਗਰੀਬ ਬੰਦਾ ਧਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਘੁਮੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਫੁਕਾਰੇ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਫਿਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Literal Translation: Hungry man’s daughter satisfied, then the straw is thrown.
Meaning (English): Basic needs must be met before anything else.
English Equivalent: First things first.
