ਅਖਾਣ: ਬਾਲ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਮਰੇ ਮਾਂ, ਬੁੱਢੇ ਦੀ ਜੋਰੂ
Akhan: Baal Di Na Mare Maan, Budhe Di Joru
ਅਰਥ: ਮਾਂ-ਮਹਿੱਟਰ ਬਾਲ ਤੇ ਰੰਡਾ ਬੁੱਢੜਾ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਔਖੇ ਤੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Literal Translation: A child’s mother never dies, an old man’s wife.
Meaning (English): Mothers are irreplaceable, wives of old men may be burdensome.
English Equivalent: Mothers are precious.
