ਅਖਾਣ: ਪਿਉ ਨਾ ਮਾਰੀ ਪਿੱਦੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੀਰ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼
Akhan: Piu Na Mari Piddi Putar Teer Andaz
ਅਰਥ: ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਛੋਕੜ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਕੇ ਸ਼ੇਖੀਆਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਅਖਾਣ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਹਨ।
Literal Translation: Father didn’t strike, son aims the arrow
Meaning (English): Sometimes children act boldly when parents are gentle
English Equivalent: Spare the rod, spoil the child
