ਅਖਾਣ: ਪੱਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੇਰ ਆਟਾ, ਹੀਂਗਦੀ ਦਾ ਸੰਘ ਪਾਟਾ
Akhan: Palle Nahi Ser Aata, Hingdi Da Sangh Pata
ਅਰਥ: ਜਦੋ ਕੋਈ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਪੱਖੋਂ ਮਾੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ ਬਣਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਵਰਤਦੇ ਹਨ।
Literal Translation: The flour does not rise, only the asafoetida’s powder spreads
Meaning (English): Effort without substance produces nothing
English Equivalent: All show, no substance
