ਅਖਾਣ: ਡੁੱਬੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੇ ਸਾਹ ਨਾ ਆਇਆ॥
Akhan: Dubbi Ta Je Saah Na Aaya
ਅਰਥ: ਜਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ, ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਵੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਸਲਾਹ ਦੇਵੇ ਕਿ ਆਹ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਔਹ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Literal Translation: Only if breath hadn’t come to the drowned
Meaning (English): Too late to help after the disaster
English Equivalent: Closing the barn after the horse has bolted
