ਅਖਾਣ: ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਘਿਉ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ ਮਾਂ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ ਪਿਉ॥
Akhan: Jo Kare Ghiu Na Kare, Maan Na Kare Piu
ਅਰਥ: ਇਸ ਅਖ਼ਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਦੇਸੀ ਘਿਉ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਦਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਪੈਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Literal Translation: What the ghee does not do, neither mother nor father can do.
Meaning (English): Some efforts or remedies are irreplaceable.
English Equivalent: Nothing substitutes hard work.
