ਅਖਾਣ: ਕੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਲੀ ਹਾਥੀ ਦੰਦ ਦਾ ਪਰਨਾਲਾ॥
Akhan: Kakhhan Di Kulli Hathi Dand Da Parnala.
ਅਰਥ: ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ਸਤਾ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਖਰਚ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਅਖਾਣ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Literal Translation: A broom of stalks, the elephant’s tooth is short.
Meaning (English): Weak tools are useless for big tasks.
English Equivalent: A poor workman blames his tools.
