ਅਖਾਣ: ਹਾਥੀ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਪੂਛ ਬਾਕੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ॥
Akhan: Haathi langh gaya te pooch baaki reh gayi.
ਅਰਥ: ਕੰਮ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਡੇਰਾ ਤੇ ਔਖੇਰਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਏਵੇਂ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਮਾਮੂਲੀ ਜਿਹਾ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Literal Translation: The elephant passed, but the tail remains.
Meaning (English): After major events, minor issues still linger.
English Equivalent: “The devil is in the details.”
