ਅਖਾਣ: ਉੱਤੋਂ ਝੜਿਆ ਸੰਭਲੇ ਪਰ ਨਜ਼ਰੋਂ ਝੜਿਆ ਨਾ ਸੰਭਲੇ॥
Akhan: Utton jharia sambhle, par nazron jharia na sambhle
ਅਰਥ: ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਅਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੰਦਾ ਮੁੜ ਪੈਰਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੰਦਾ ਮੁੜਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
Literal Translation: What falls from hand can be picked up, but what falls from the eye (respect) cannot.
Meaning (English): Lost respect is hard to regain.
English Equivalent: Reputation once lost is hard to recover.
