ਅਖਾਣ: ਉਜੜੇ ਬਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਾਲ੍ਹੜ ਪਟਵਾਰੀ॥
Akhan: Ujre bagan de galhar patwari
ਅਰਥ: ਜਦ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਖਸਮੀ ਸ਼ੈ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਮੂਲੀ ਜਿਹਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਮਾਲਿਕ ਬਣ ਬਹੇ।
Literal Translation: In ruined gardens, the monkeys act as keepers.
Meaning (English): In chaos, the unworthy take charge.
English Equivalent: When the cat’s away, the mice will play.
