ਅਖਾਣ: ਆਪਣੀ ਪਈ ਤੇ ਪਰਾਈ ਬਿਸਰੀ॥
Akhan: Apni Pai Te Parai Bisri
ਅਰਥ: ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਕੋਈ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਆਣ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੂਜੇ ਸਾਕ ਸੰਬੰਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਜ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Literal Translation: Remember your own, forget others’.
Meaning (English): People often value their own belongings or responsibilities while neglecting others’.
English Equivalent: Charity begins at home.
