ਅਖਾਣ: ਆਪਣੀ ਅਕਲ ਤੇ ਪਰਾਇਆ ਧਨ ਹਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਗੁਣਾ ਵੱਧ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥
Akhan: Apni Akal Te Paraaia Dhan Har Kise Nu Kai Guna Wadh Vikhai Denda Hai
ਅਰਥ: ਜਦ ਕੋਈ ਅਗਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਕਸ ਕੱਢੇ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਲਹੀਣ ਆਖੇ ਪਰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧ ਦੱਸੇ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾਵੇ ਤੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਦੱਸੇ ।
Literal Translation: One values their own wisdom less and others’ wealth more.
Meaning (English): People often undervalue their own skills and overvalue others’ possessions.
English Equivalent: The grass is always greener on the other side.
